Yes this is the time I celebrate the new year! Going back to school is where I make my resolutions to help me get through the year to make this a good year.
- Close my circles. I generally come close but I want to close them by not sitting as much during my prep time. I want to make sure I stand as I work as I generally move more with a standing desk.
- Respect time of everyone. Making sure I keep my own family time, I am going to try to get on a schedule to keep organized to make life easier at home and to explain to students the importance of balance.
- Send home Good notes. I used to do this but got out of the habit. I am going to make sure I do this. On Saturday morning for 20 minutes I am going to send two each week. I will keep track of who gets them.
Those three and also have a good conversation with my students about how much growth happens in these years. I teach them computer science so this will be the second year I have taught 100 of them before. So they change so much in these middle years. It is important for them to know that a new year is a new beginning for them as well!!!!!
